Japanese Stone Sulpture by Susumu Ikegami

Recently, there has been an increase in competitions aimed at incorporating sculpture into town design and raising cultural consciousness. That the above work was created for a residential park meant that I could be very free in its conception and execution. Since those visiting the park would be mostly local residents and their children, I tried to create a piece of friendly and familiar "street furniture" which would most especially invite the children to climb, to ride and to slide down its surfaces.   Granite
